Head of Data Management & Governance

Head of Data Management & Governance to lead A2Dominion’s enterprise data governance and data management capability. Reporting to the Director of Data Analytics & BI, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring data is defined, governed, trusted and fit for purpose across operational, regulatory and strategic decision-making.

This is a key leadership role within our evolving Data Office, responsible for embedding an organisation-wide approach to data ownership, stewardship, quality and accountability. You’ll ensure data is treated as a strategic business asset and that governance is built into how data is created, managed and consumed throughout the organisation.

Working closely with Data Engineering, Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, Risk, Audit and Compliance teams, you’ll help create a culture where data is understood, trusted and managed consistently across A2Dominion., * Define, implement and continuously evolve A2Dominion’s enterprise Data Management and Governance Framework

• Lead and develop a high-performing Data Management & Governance function that supports long-term organisational goals and maturity growth
• Establish clear data ownership, stewardship and accountability models across the organisation
• Embed governance into business processes, ensuring data controls are built in rather than applied retrospectively
• Own and govern organisational data standards, definitions and critical data assets
• Establish and maintain consistent definitions for KPIs, regulatory metrics and core operational data
• Lead the resolution of data conflicts, inconsistencies and governance issues across business areas
• Develop and maintain enterprise-wide metadata management, data lineage and traceability capabilities
• Act as the key interface for data-related matters with Risk, Internal Audit, Compliance functions and external regulators
• Ensure governance frameworks align with regulatory requirements, emerging standards and organisational risk appetite
• Work closely with Data Engineering and Data Product teams to embed governance, standards and controls into platforms and solutions
• Champion organisation-wide adoption of data governance best practice through training, awareness and stakeholder engagement

• Degree-level qualification or equivalent professional experience in a relevant discipline
• Extensive experience leading Data Governance, Data Management or Data Quality functions
• Strong understanding of enterprise data governance and data management frameworks
• Proven experience implementing organisation-wide governance, stewardship and accountability models
• Deep understanding of data quality, metadata, lineage, standards and control frameworks
• Experience operating within regulated, compliance-led or assurance-driven environments
• Strong knowledge of audit, risk and regulatory requirements relating to organisational data
• Experience developing governance models that improve confidence, trust and consistency in data
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the ability to work effectively at Executive and senior leadership level
