Embedded Software Engineer (Avionics)

12+ month contract supporting next-generation military aircraft and avionics development programs. Develop, modify, integrate, test, and document embedded software for mission-critical aerospace systems. Translate system-level requirements into software requirements, verification activities, and test procedures. Support software integration, validation, and certification efforts across multidisciplinary engineering teams. Utilize C/C++ in real-time embedded environments supporting defense and aviation applications. Participate in requirements management, traceability, and verification activities using industry-standard tools. Contribute to capability enhancements, system upgrades, and long-term platform modernization efforts. Work closely with Systems, Software, Test, Integration, and Customer teams to deliver program milestones. Opportunity for long-term extension on a flagship military aviation program.

Experience developing embedded software in aerospace, defense, avionics, or other real-time systems environments. Strong programming experience with C and/or C++. Experience supporting the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). Ability to derive software requirements from higher-level system requirements. Experience with software integration, verification, and validation activities. Understanding of requirements-based development methodologies. Strong technical documentation and communication skills. Ability to work effectively within cross-functional engineering teams., Experience with avionics or military aerospace systems. Experience with DOORS requirements management. Experience with PC Lint, LDRA TestBed, VectorCast, or similar verification tools. Knowledge of software traceability and requirements verification processes. Familiarity with military aircraft development programs and certification activities. Experience working within regulated aerospace or defense environments.
