Job description

We are seeking a proactive and organised individual to join our team as a Finance and IT Support Manager, supporting both our technology infrastructure and financial administration functions.

This is a varied and rewarding role that would suit someone with strong IT skills, excellent attention to detail and an interest in supporting the day-to-day operations of a professional legal practice.

Reporting to the Partners and working closely with the Finance team and external IT providers, you will provide assistance with the firm’s financial administration and accounting processes as well as IT support., Finance Responsibilities

  • Cover legal cashier duties when the legal cashier is on annual leave, including:
  • Assist with daily finance administration activities.
  • Process invoices and supplier payments.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Assist with payroll preparation and related administration.
  • Support month-end and year-end financial processes.
  • Maintain financial spreadsheets and management reports.
  • Assist with compliance requirements, including SRA Accounts Rules where applicable.

IT Responsibilities

  • Support the firm’s IT Manager by providing technical support to staff in all elements of the firm’s IT systems.
  • Assist in managing hardware, software, and network systems.
  • Liaise with external IT support and software providers.
  • Set up and maintain computers, laptops, mobile devices and user accounts.
  • Monitor system security, backups and software updates.
  • Support legal case management systems and Microsoft 365 applications.
  • Assist with IT projects, system upgrades and staff training.
  • Maintain IT asset registers and documentation.
  • Help ensure compliance with data protection and cybersecurity requirements.

Requirements

· Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.

· Experience in finance, bookkeeping, accounts administration or a related field.

· Experience using accounting software.

· High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

· Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

· Discretion when handling confidential information.

· Strong team player.

· Willingness to help out with a variety of tasks.

Desirable Requirements

· Experience in an IT support, systems administration or similar role.

· Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications.

· Understanding of cybersecurity best practices.

· AAT qualification or equivalent finance experience.

· Relevant IT qualifications (CompTIA, Microsoft, or similar).
