Job description
Mercury Training Services delivers apprenticeships across Security, Facilities Management and Business Administration and Management, working with employers who protect and run some of the most significant sites in the country.
Everything we do rests on one data return. The Individual Learner Record is how our apprentices are recognised, how our delivery is funded and how our compliance is judged. We are looking for someone who knows the ILR properly and enjoys getting it right.
This is a hands on role. You will code and maintain learner records, run the monthly return, and also be the person who interrogates the data, spots the error before it becomes a clawback and says clearly what needs to change. You will move between a single learner record and the picture across the whole provision, sometimes in the same hour.
What you will be doing
- Entering, coding and maintaining learner records on the ILR
- Preparing, validating and submitting the monthly return, including hard close
- Reconciling earnings against expected income and investigating variances
- Carrying out compliance checks at each key stage of learner onboarding
- Chasing employers by phone to resolve blocked records, such as unsigned training plans
- Using PDSAT and other tools to interrogate the data and drive corrections
- Reporting on starts, retention, achievement and funding at risk
Requirements
- At least three years working with the ILR in an apprenticeship setting, covering input, coding and reporting
- Experience of the full monthly return cycle, including validation, submission and reconciliation
- Practical understanding of the Funding Rules and how apprenticeship funding is earned, held and lost
- Knowledge of PDSAT and the ability to act on what it shows
- Strong Excel skills, including lookups and pivot tables
- Confidence picking up the phone to an employer and seeing an issue through
- Accuracy, and the discipline to check rather than assume
Nice to have
- Experience of a funding assurance review or provider audit
- Experience of Submit Learner Data and the apprenticeship service
- Experience of a learner management system such as BUD
- Power BI or similar reporting skills, * How many years experience do you have working with the Individual Learner Record?
- Do you have experience of monthly ILR submissions including hard close?
