Job description

  • Install, configure, and maintain audiovisual systems including video conferencing setups, audio equipment, control systems, and digital signal processing components.
  • Troubleshoot AV system issues promptly by diagnosing hardware and software problems using schematics, electrical schematics reading, and engineering troubleshooting techniques.
  • Perform routine maintenance on AV equipment such as cabling, mechanical components, and electrical connections to ensure optimal operation.
  • Read blueprints and electrical schematics to assist with system installation and upgrades while adhering to low voltage and electrical safety standards.
  • Operate and support live event AV production projects by managing audio systems, video feeds, and control interfaces to deliver flawless presentations.
  • Conduct field service visits for system installation, troubleshooting, repairs, and upgrades at client sites.
  • Utilize hand tools and testing devices such as voltmeters to verify system integrity and troubleshoot electrical or signal issues effectively.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their needs for telecommunication setups, video conferencing systems operation, and integrated AV solutions.
  • Implement audio systems tailored to specific environments by integrating control system programming for user-friendly operation.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, schematics interpretation, troubleshooting steps, and maintenance logs to ensure ongoing reliability.

Requirements

  • Proven experience working in the AV industry with a strong understanding of audiovisual control systems operation and equipment troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of E & I (Electrical & Instrumentation), low voltage wiring practices, and telecommunication standards.
  • Skilled in computer networking concepts relevant to AV systems including IP-based video conferencing solutions.
  • Ability to read blueprints and electrical schematics accurately for installation and troubleshooting purposes.
  • Hands-on experience with AV system installation, cabling techniques, mechanical knowledge of equipment setup, and maintenance routines.
  • Familiarity with digital signal processing (DSP), audio systems integration, video conferencing operation, and software troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools such as screwdrivers, wire strippers, crimpers along with testing devices like voltmeters for electrical diagnostics.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to non-technical clients.
  • Experience supporting live event AV production projects from setup through execution is highly desirable.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and schematics accurately while adhering to safety standards related to low voltage electrical work.
