Job description
The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for daily inventory management, cycle count activities, inventory accuracy, and investigation and resolution of inventory discrepancies. This role works closely with Warehouse, Material Handling, and Manufacturing teams to maintain accurate inventory records, support warehouse operations, and drive continuous improvement., * Execute the cycle count program, perform cycle counts, and research inventory variances to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Investigate inventory discrepancies, identify root causes, and make appropriate inventory corrections.
- Monitor inventory aging, expiration dates, and inventory lots.
- Operate warehouse power equipment to support inventory and material-handling activities.
- Run inventory reports, track metrics, and compile information for the Warehouse department.
- Collaborate with Material Handling and Manufacturing teams on inventory and ERP transactions, including material identification, quantity verification, and put-away locations.
- Perform data entry and maintain accurate inventory documentation and records.
- Support internal and external audits and observations related to inventory control and compliance.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe warehouse and storage areas.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 2+ years of related warehouse, inventory control, or material-handling experience required.
- Strong inventory control and cycle counting experience.
- Experience operating warehouse power equipment; forklift certification preferred.
- Experience with a Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Experience with Oracle or other ERP/MRP systems preferred; Oracle is a teachable skill.
- Experience in an FDA-controlled environment preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
- 100% onsite warehouse environment.
- Ability to stand, walk, reach, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and work around warehouse equipment.
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry products weighing up to 45 pounds.
- Regular operation of warehouse power equipment.
- May be exposed to moving mechanical parts, vibration, moderate noise, and potentially hazardous materials.
- Safety shoes must be worn in designated areas in accordance with site policies.
