Requirements

We’re not necessarily looking for someone who knows every technology in our environment on day one.

We’re looking for someone who knows how to figure things out.

You should have:

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Experience supporting Windows and macOS
  • Experience supporting computers, printers, phones, networking equipment, and classroom technology
  • A basic understanding of networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, Wi-Fi, firewalls, and switches
  • Strong communication and customer-service skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities without losing your cool
  • A willingness to learn, experiment, and tackle unfamiliar problems
  • Ability to lift 30 or more pounds and work from a ladder

Experience with Active Directory, Entra ID/Azure AD, Hyper-V, GPO, Unifi, Google Workspace, cybersecurity, or other IT administration tools is a plus.

An associate’s or bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred, but experience and demonstrated ability matter too.

Benefits & conditions

This isn’t a job where you’ll spend all day staring at a ticket queue. You’ll be part troubleshooter, part technology coach, part detective, and occasionally the person crawling under a desk looking for the cable someone swears they didn’t unplug.

You’ll work directly with students, teachers, administrators, and staff, helping them use technology to teach, learn, communicate, and get their jobs done.

What You’ll Do

Be the first line of defense.

You’ll troubleshoot everything from computers and printers to classroom displays, phones, Wi-Fi, software, and the occasional technology mystery that seems to defy the laws of physics.

Keep classrooms running.

Technology is an important part of how our teachers teach and our students learn. You’ll help make sure classroom technology is ready to go and be there when it isn’t.

Set people up for success.

You’ll configure and deploy computers and other devices, install software, and help keep our technology environment secure and up to date.

Solve problems, not just tickets.

You’ll investigate issues, identify root causes, document solutions, and follow problems through until they’re actually resolved.

Help people become more comfortable with technology.

Sometimes the solution isn’t fixing the computer. It’s helping someone understand how to use it. You’ll have opportunities to train and coach faculty, staff, and students.

Support the bigger picture.

You’ll work alongside the Director of Technology on infrastructure, cybersecurity, device management, technology projects, and initiatives that continue to move the Academy forward.

And yes, there will occasionally be a school performance, event, meeting, or other important occasion where technology absolutely, positively has to work.

You’ll help make sure it does., You enjoy figuring out why something isn’t working, not just finding a temporary fix.

You can explain a technical problem to someone without making them feel like they should have known the answer already.

You don’t mind helping someone who starts the conversation with:

“I don’t know what I did…”

You understand that great IT support is really great customer service.

You’re dependable. You’re curious. You’re patient. You take ownership.

And you’re comfortable admitting when you don’t know something because you’re confident you’ll figure it out.

Why Work at Fayetteville Academy?

Because your work will be visible.

You’ll have the opportunity to work across an entire school community and see the direct impact of the technology you support.

One day you might be troubleshooting a teacher’s laptop. Next, you’re configuring new devices, solving a network issue, running networking cable, or supporting a major school event.

And you’ll have the opportunity to grow your skills while working with a diverse and constantly evolving technology environment.

Think You’d Be a Good Fit?

If you’re looking for a position where you can solve interesting problems, work with great people, and make a real difference, we’d like to meet you.

Bring your technical skills. Bring your curiosity. Bring your problem-solving mindset.

We’ll provide plenty of problems to solve.
