Job description

The Principal Workday HCM Analyst is a senior individual contributor responsible for the configuration, administration, optimization, and ongoing support of the Workday platform. This hands-on role serves as a senior subject matter expert and escalation point for complex configuration, business processes, security, reporting, and data issues. Workday is managed internally without reliance on an external managed-services provider., * Serve as a senior hands-on Workday HCM SME and escalation point for complex system issues.

  • Design, configure, test, deploy, and maintain Workday HCM functionality.
  • Translate business requirements into effective, scalable Workday solutions.
  • Configure and optimize Workday Business Processes (condition rules, validations, approvals, routing, notifications).
  • Configure and maintain Workday security (security groups, domain security, BP security, role-based access).
  • Build, test, and execute EIBs and perform mass employee transactions (hires, terminations, job/org/compensation changes).
  • Develop complex Workday reports (Advanced and Matrix reports), calculated fields, dashboards, and alerts.
  • Perform data audits, reconciliations, and corrective actions to maintain data integrity.
  • Evaluate Workday releases/updates, perform impact assessments, and recommend process improvements.
  • Partner with HR, Total Rewards, Payroll, Finance, and IT stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Experience: 8+ years of progressive HRIS experience with deep, hands-on Workday HCM expertise.
  • Core Competencies:
  • Advanced Workday Business Process & Security configuration experience.
  • Hands-on EIB and mass data load expertise.
  • Advanced Workday reporting (Advanced/Matrix reports, calculated fields, dashboards).
  • Foundational Workday configuration knowledge (supervisory orgs, positions, job profiles, comp structures).
  • Education: Preferred Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in an Analytical or Technical field.
