Job description

Responsibilities

Develop, maintain, and optimize complex Java-based applications in support of large-scale, government-critical systems.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust software solutions aligned with organizational goals.
Utilize advanced SQL skills for database development, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Support application migration from legacy mainframe systems to modern Java/SQL environments.
Employ Atlassian tools-including JIRA-for agile project tracking and documentation.
Ensure application reliability and security within a Linux environment.
Participate in Agile ceremonies and champion best practices for continuous improvement.

Requirements

15+ years of hands-on Java development experience.

10+ years of advanced SQL database experience.
8+ years of experience sustaining and developing large applications in a team setting.
5+ years working in Linux environments.

Preferred Skills

8+ years using Atlassian tools, especially JIRA.
8+ years working in Agile development environments.
Experience with Texas Department of Public Safety applications or other State of Texas government systems.
Experience migrating applications from mainframe to Java/SQL platforms., Atlassian Tools JIRA Linux
