DataStage Administrator

Job Summary: We are seeking a hands-on DataStage Administrator with extensive IBM DataStage experience across administration, development, support, and maintenance. The ideal candidate will bring strong SQL, database, and Unix/Linux scripting skills, along with an architectural mindset and a focus on automation, system reliability, and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities Administer, support, maintain, and enhance IBM DataStage environments and ETL processes. Troubleshoot complex technical issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement long-term solutions. Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize ETL jobs and integration workflows. Develop automation scripts to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual effort. Work with databases, complex SQL queries, and performance-tuning activities. Support enterprise integration and middleware technologies across a multi-platform environment. Identify opportunities to modernize legacy solutions and improve

system reliability and scalability. Manage technical challenges independently and drive initiatives through completion. Collaborate with onshore and offshore teams to coordinate support, maintenance, and delivery activities. Support workload scheduling and managed file transfer processes as required. Document technical procedures, troubleshooting steps, and operational improvements. Communicate technical issues, progress, and recommendations clearly to stakeholders. Required Skills and Qualifications 8+ years of hands-on IBM DataStage experience across administration, development, support, and maintenance. Strong experience with relational database management systems (RDBMS), complex SQL, and query performance tuning. Proficiency in Unix/Linux scripting and automation. Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and root-cause analysis skills. Ability to work independently, manage complex technical challenges, and take ownership of deliverables. Architectural and continuous-improvement mindset, with the ability to identify inefficiencies and optimize existing solutions. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Experience working in an onshore-offshore delivery model. Willingness to learn and support additional integration technologies. Preferred Qualifications Exposure to enterprise integration platforms and middleware technologies beyond IBM DataStage. Familiarity with Control-M or other workload automation tools. Experience with Managed File Transfer (MFT) solutions. Experience automating operational tasks and improving ETL platform reliability.
