Job description

The Application Engineer is responsible for applying engineering principles to support product development, customer implementations, and continuous improvement of mechanical systems. This role bridges design and manufacturing by developing 2D and 3D mechanical designs, validating solutions, and driving process improvements to increase product quality, manufacturability, and performance. The Application Engineer II works cross-functionally with product management, manufacturing, and customers to translate requirements into robust engineering solutions., * Design, develop, and document 2D and 3D mechanical components and assemblies using CAD tools, ensuring designs meet functional, manufacturability, and cost targets.

  • Lead technical customer engagements to gather requirements, propose solutions, and support product demonstrations and implementations.
  • Perform design verification and validation activities including tolerance analysis, FEA coordination, prototyping, and testing to ensure product performance and reliability.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives across product design and manufacturing processes to reduce cost, improve quality, and shorten time-to-market.
  • Provide technical support to manufacturing and field service teams during production ramp and product deployment, troubleshooting issues and implementing corrective actions.
  • Create and maintain engineering documentation, including drawings, BOMs, specifications, and design change notices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (R&D, manufacturing, quality, procurement) to resolve technical issues and prioritize engineering changes.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team knowledge sharing and best practices for mechanical design and process improvements.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Validation design?, * Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline (or equivalent experience).

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in mechanical design with proven use of 2D and 3D CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo, AutoCAD).
  • Experience with product development lifecycle including prototyping, testing, and design validation.
  • Demonstrated experience with continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen) and implementing process improvements in engineering or manufacturing contexts.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical principles, GD&T, materials, and manufacturing processes.
  • Proven problem-solving skills, data-driven decision making, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills with experience presenting technical solutions to internal teams and customers.
  • Preferred: Experience with FEA, tolerance analysis, automation equipment, or controls integration; Six Sigma certification; or prior experience in a field-facing or application engineering role.
