Job description
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Epic Willow Inpatient Analyst to join our Healthcare IT team. This role serves as a subject matter expert (SME) for inpatient pharmacy application workflows and configurations, supporting the delivery of high-quality Epic EHR solutions in a dynamic healthcare environment. The successful candidate will bring 4+ years of experience in Epic application management, with a strong track record in day-to-day operations, client stakeholder engagement, and collaboration with cross-functional and offshore teams., Application Support & Operations

Act as the primary subject matter expert (SME) for Epic Willow Inpatient application workflows and configurations
-
Manage and prioritize daily support and maintenance activities, ensuring timely resolution of incidents and service requests per defined SLAs
-
Monitor and manage error queues, label and printer issues, and pharmacy automation interfaces

Troubleshoot and resolve issues with dispensing cabinet/robot interfaces, including ID mapping
-
Perform root cause analysis on application issues and implement corrective actions
Build & Configuration
-
Build and maintain inpatient pharmacy configurations within the Epic EHR environment
-
Manage medication order sets, formulary setup, and dose checking rules
-
Configure NDC billing builds, pharmacy charge maps, and 340b billing workflows
-
Support medication build activities including IV mixtures, compounding, and repackaging
-
Manage medication loads (Medispan) and maintain formulary accuracy
-
Develop and maintain BPA/OPA alert builds to support clinical decision-making and patient safety
-
Support CPOE and pharmacy verification workflows for medication order management
Stakeholder & Team Collaboration
-
Serve as a liaison with client stakeholders, ensuring alignment of system capabilities with clinical and business needs
-
Collaborate closely with hospital pharmacists, pharmacy operations teams, nurses, and physicians to optimize workflows
-
Coordinate with Accenture team, software vendor team, and client contacts across all application activities
-
Coordinate with offshore support teams, ensuring effective communication, task delegation, and performance monitoring
-
Participate in regular team meetings, providing updates on ongoing work, potential risks, and resource needs
-
Support team members working on other Epic applications as needed
Documentation & Compliance
-
Maintain comprehensive system documentation including workflows, build specifications, and testing protocols
-
Ensure compliance with HIPAA, data governance, medication safety standards, and organizational security policies
-
Develop and deliver end-user training materials and conduct training sessions as required
-
Support system design, testing, and implementation activities for upgrades and enhancements
Requirements
Certification
-
Active Epic Willow Inpatient certification required (must be current and maintained)
-
Additional Epic certifications (Ambulatory, Home Infusion, Bugsy, related modules) are a plus
-
All Epic certifications must be maintained and kept current throughout employment
Experience
-
4+ years of experience in Epic application management and support
-
Demonstrated experience with inpatient pharmacy operations and Epic Willow Inpatient configuration
-
Experience managing day-to-day EHR support operations and meeting SLA requirements
-
Prior experience working with offshore teams and managing distributed team coordination preferred
-
Experience in healthcare IT consulting or large health system environments preferred
Technical & Functional Skills
Epic & EHR Proficiency
-
Epic Willow Inpatient: medication order management (CPOE, verification workflows)
-
Pharmacy dispensing, IV workflows, and inpatient medication administration, * Deep understanding of hospital (inpatient) pharmacy workflows and clinical operations
-
Patient safety workflow knowledge and regulatory awareness (HIPAA, medication safety standards)
-
Familiarity with medication ordering, dispensing, and inventory management in hospital settings
Competencies & Soft Skills

Strong analytical thinking and structured problem-solving abilities

Excellent communication skills; ability to translate clinical requirements into technical solutions

Experience communicating with clinicians including pharmacists, nurses, and physicians

Proven stakeholder management skills in complex, matrixed healthcare environments

Strong documentation and training development skills

Effective project coordination and ability to manage competing priorities

Collaborative team player comfortable working with both onshore and offshore team members
