Job description

Our goal is 100 percent remote and we stay small so we can remain close to the specific problems our clients face. We look for clarity, plain conversation, and the kind of written records that help people remember what was decided without needing to ask. We are now looking for a Junior Data Analyst to help us organise and interpret the information we gather from teams. Your work will provide the foundation for the advice we give, helping us see the facts within the messy daily operations of our clients., As a Junior Data Analyst, you support our advisory projects by keeping track of the numbers and patterns that matter. Most of our clients have many tools but little clarity. Your job is to find the data that tells the story of how work actually happens within their teams. This involves looking at communication patterns, task completion logs, and decision outcomes. You are there to provide the factual record for the changes we suggest. This is a junior role, so we do not expect you to have all the answers, but we do expect a high level of curiosity and a commitment to accuracy. What You Will Do You will spend much of your time collecting and cleaning data from various sources to map how priorities move through an organisation. You might look at time entry data, project logs, or internal feedback. This is not just a technical task: it requires understanding the context of the client work. You will identify where projects tend to stall and organize this information so it can be easily shared with our advisors. In addition to data work, you will help us draft short, plain language summaries for our clients. These summaries ensure that everyone is looking at the same facts before they try to solve a problem.

Requirements

  • A logical mind and a genuine interest in how teams work together.
  • Comfort using tools like Excel or Google Sheets to organize and sort information.
  • Familiarity with basic SQL or a willingness to learn how to query simple databases.
  • The ability to write in a clear, straightforward way that avoids business jargon.
  • High attention to detail, specifically when checking for errors in numbers or dates.
  • Good organizational habits to stay on top of daily tasks in a remote setup.
  • A preference for solving practical problems rather than building overly complex systems.
  • The ability to provide a record of what is actually happening based on the evidence.

Benefits & conditions

This position is an opportunity to learn how management advisory work functions from the ground up. You will see how data influences the way leadership teams operate and make decisions. Because we are a small team, your work will be seen and used immediately. There are no layers of management between you and the results of your analysis. We offer a stable, full-time remote role with a focus on a healthy work rhythm. We do not expect you to be available at all hours. Instead, we value deep work and clear communication during the hours you are active. How We Use Data At Olive Tree Consulting, data is a tool for simplification. We avoid large systems that are difficult to maintain, preferring instead to find small, manageable changes that can stick. Your analysis will help pinpoint these opportunities. We want to know which habits are helping a team and which are causing friction. By using data to show the movement of work, we help leaders take ownership of their processes. It is a practical approach that values accuracy and honesty over flashy visuals or complex models. Working At Olive Tree Consulting We work fully remotely and keep our operations lean. This allows us to stay close to the specific problems our clients face without getting bogged down in our own internal bureaucracy. We value written records and plain conversation because they reduce the need for constant meetings. Our goal is to leave our clients with a quieter management pattern that stays in place after we leave. This is a permanent, full-time position where your contribution directly helps leaders hold their work more easily.

About Olive Tree Consulting Olive Tree Consulting works with leadership teams when management work has become harder than it should be. Often, the issue is not a single bad meeting or one missing document. Instead, the friction lies in how decisions, priorities, and responsibilities move through the group. We help make that movement clearer by looking at the practical habits a team already uses. As a focused advisory practice, we prefer useful notes over polished presentations and clear ownership over vague alignment. We favor small, practical changes over large programmes that no one has the time to maintain.
