Job description
- Remove and sort components - RAM, hard drives, CPUs, power supplies
- Use software tools to wipe and verify storage drives
- Log equipment details into our inventory system
- Clean, grade, and stage devices for resale or recycling
- Follow ESD safety procedures and proper electronics handling
- Support general warehouse tasks as needed (must be able to lift up to 50 lbs)
Requirements
Do you have experience in Hardware support?, This is a hands-on, physical job. Every day you will be opening computers, removing components, and working at a production bench. You do not need prior job experience in IT - but you must have genuine interest in how computers work and have physically handled computer hardware at least once, whether building a PC, upgrading a component, or tearing something apart to see how it works. If you have never opened a computer, this is not the right role yet., * You have built, upgraded, or repaired a computer - and you can tell the difference between DDR3 and DDR4, identify a DIMM slot, and know whether a drive is SATA or NVMe
- You are studying IT, electronics, or a related field and have hands-on lab experience working with physical hardware
- You have worked in any technical, mechanical, or assembly environment where attention to detail and speed both mattered
You also need:
- Hands-on familiarity with computer components - you should be able to identify RAM by generation, distinguish HDD from SSD from NVMe, and recognize common motherboard components on sight
- Ability to work at a steady pace in a production environment
- Reliable transportation and consistent attendance
- Must pass a full background check - firm requirement for all candidates
Preferred (Nice to Have)
- CompTIA A+ certification or currently studying for it
- Any experience in electronics repair, an ITAD environment, or e-waste recycling
- Familiarity with drive erasure tools such as Blancco or KillDisk
