Job description

Seeking a skilled and motivated Design Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and refining product designs from concept through production, working closely with manufacturing, quality, and customer-facing teams to deliver high-performance plastic components and assemblies., * Design plastic components and assemblies using CAD software (SolidWorks, Autocad, or equivalent), ensuring alignment with functional, aesthetic, and manufacturing requirements.

  • Develop detailed 2D drawings and 3D models, including GD&T annotations, tolerances, and material callouts.
  • Lead DFM and DFA reviews to optimize designs for CNC machining, fabrication and customer requirements.
  • Create and maintain engineering BOMs, designs, and product documentation throughout the product lifecycle.

Manufacturing Collaboration

  • Partner with operations team to ensure designs are manufacturable and tooling is optimized.
  • Support first-article inspections (FAI) for new and revised components.
  • Troubleshoot production issues related to dimensional non-conformances, material defects, or process variation, and implement corrective actions.

Cross-Functional & Customer Engagement

  • Collaborate with sales, project management, and customers to translate requirements into engineering specifications.
  • Participate in design reviews, FMEA sessions, and customer-facing technical presentations.
  • Support cost-reduction initiatives through design optimization and alternate material or process evaluation.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Customer communication?, · Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Plastics Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.

· 3-7 years of hands-on experience in product design within a manufacturing environment.

· Proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks preferred).

· Experience applying GD&T per ASME Y14.5 standards.

· Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
