Job description

The Technician position will assist in the support of hardware, software, and minor network issues that may occur. This includes support of computers, wireless/wired networks, software systems, data cables, printers, and any other technology systems and devices. When needed assist with covering the phones for the Help Desk and troubleshoot over the phone., * Install or assist service personnel in installation of computer hardware and peripheral components such as monitors, keyboards, and printers. Have a good understanding of the technology being used.

  • Perform trouble shooting: To include both wired and wireless configurations.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, install, and terminate different types of copper data cables. This includes punching down the line at a patch panel and crimping an end on the wire
  • Respond to room calls with technology issues to include IP phones, guest room entertainment system, and guest room wired/wireless High Speed Internet, and various wiring issues.
  • Cover the phones for the help desk and assist guest and other clients
  • Interview the user or guest to collect information about a problem and lead user through diagnostic procedures to find a solution or to gather more information.
  • Work with the team on more complex issues impacting users.
  • Upon identifying issue communicate findings to Tier 2 and Tier 3 support.
  • Monitor the IT ticketing system. Update and solve tickets as required.
  • Assist with receiving and movement of IT-related products at the various properties.
  • Coordinate with Inventory Specialist and Supervisors to insure the procedure is followed.
  • Comply with the company’s drug-free and tobacco/nicotine-free policy.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Wireless networking?, Do you have a Trade school?, * One year of Tech experience is required.

  • Ability to lift- up to 25 lbs. consistently and 50 lbs. infrequently.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods and safely use ladders to access elevated equipment.
  • Must be capable of bending, kneeling, and working in low or confined spaces.
  • Must be able to legally work in the USA.

Education and Certification(s)/License(s):

  • Associate’s degree (A. A.) or equivalent from a two-year College or technical school
  • A CompTIA A+ certification and Network+ are a plus.
