About the Division: The Office of State Human Resources (OSHR) serves as the central authority for HR across North Carolina state government, but only its IT staff has been optimized under the NCDIT umbrella. This means that while OSHR continues to manage statewide HR policies, classification, compensation, recruitment, and workforce programs, its technology operations-such as IT infrastructure, systems support, and digital solutions-are now aligned with NCDITâs centralized IT governance. By integrating OSHRâs IT resources with NCDIT, the state ensures consistent technology standards, improved cybersecurity, and streamlined support for HR systems, while OSHR retains full responsibility for core HR functions and policy administration. This optimization enhances efficiency and modernizes the technology backbone supporting HR services without altering OSHRâs primary mission.
