Job description

Auria is looking to hire a Release Train Engineer (RTE) to support a classified mission operations program for the U.S. Space Force. This role facilitates the Agile Release Train across Software and DevSecOps teams, leads PI planning events, and ensures the program’s Agile delivery cadence is structured, repeatable, and tied to IMS-driven milestones. SAFe RTE certification is preferred. Primary work location is Colorado Springs, CO (hybrid). Travel to Government and Auria facilities may be required. WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO DO:

  • Serve as the Agile Release Train facilitator: lead PI planning events, system demos, Inspect and Adapt workshops, and all ART ceremonies across Software and DevSecOps teams.
  • Own the program board and PI cadence; ensure PI objectives are tied to IMS milestones and that the PI delivery rhythm anchors the program schedule.
  • Coordinate with the Product Owner to ensure the JIRA backlog is sufficiently structured before each PI planning event; the backlog and PI objectives must be mutually consistent.
  • Track and manage program-level risks, dependencies, and impediments across teams; escalate to program leadership as appropriate.
  • Facilitate continuous improvement through Inspect and Adapt workshops; provide metrics and retrospective inputs to program leadership.
  • Collaborate with the Scheduler to ensure PI objectives and team iteration plans translate to IMS task updates and schedule baseline maintenance.
  • Support integration of DevSecOps pipeline metrics and delivery cadence into PI planning and ART-level program reporting.

Requirements

  • Mission-Driven Professional: Collaborative contributor motivated by the opportunity to develop cutting-edge solutions that protect and serve both the nation and the world.
  • U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain a U.S. Government Top SECRET security clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Engineering, Computer Science, Business Management, or related discipline).
  • 5-10 years of experience in Agile program execution on classified DoW programs, with demonstrated experience facilitating PI planning events.
  • Demonstrated experience as a Release Train Engineer or Scrum Master on a SAFe Agile Release Train, including running PI planning, system demos, and Inspect and Adapt workshops.
  • Ability to build and maintain a program board, manage cross-team dependencies, and facilitate team-level capacity planning.
  • Experience working in JIRA and Confluence for backlog management, program board maintenance, and PI documentation.

WHAT THE TEAM PREFERS:

  • Current U.S. Government Top SECRET clearance.
  • SAFe Release Train Engineer (RTE) certification.
  • Experience supporting DoW, U.S. Space Force, or Space Systems Command programs with a PI cadence tied to IMS-driven milestones.
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps pipeline integration into PI planning and ART delivery metrics.
  • Experience standing up a new Agile Release Train from scratch, including initial team structure, JIRA configuration, and first PI planning event.
