CDFW’s Data and Technology Division (DTD) is an integral part of the Information Technology (IT) support system and the Information Technology Associate is responsible for providing IT support to the West Sacramento staff.
Under general supervision of IT Supervisor II, this position will typically perform a variety of recurring, well-defined tasks requiring occasional innovative problem-solving within guidelines. This position will act as the primary contact for West Sacramento to resolve local IT issues and will also act as the primary contact for the Headquarters to administrate and support technologies related to conference room meetings. This position must adhere to all Department IT Governance Standards and IT Policies as set by the Department’s Chief Information Officer.

This position may be eligible for a telework opportunity in accordance with departmental policies and operational needs. Employees are currently required to work in-person at least two (2) days per week. Beginning July 1, 2026, employees will be required to work in-person at least four (4) days per week in alignment with Executive Order N-22-25. Additional in-office days may be required based on operational needs., During this 12-month Limited Term assignment, you will receive full health, dental, and vision benefits! You will also earn State Service and accrue monthly leave credits.
Working Conditions
Ability to use a computer keyboard several hours a day, as well as being on the phone. Operate various IT equipment daily and occasionally move equipment either solely (50 lbs. max.) or with another person (100 lbs. max.). This may include new shipments of printers, network equipment, boxes of miscellaneous IT equipment and during office moves. Involves sitting some of the time but may involve walking to other CDFW facilities or standing for brief periods. Travel may be required for up to 10% of the time. Sitting and driving in a vehicle for a long period of time. Attend meetings, in other regions, in Sacramento or via conference call.
