Job description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lead Data Center Technician to oversee the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of critical data center infrastructure. This role is vital in ensuring the seamless operation of data center systems, including network hardware, cabling, power supplies, and security equipment. The Lead Technician will coordinate field service activities, mentor junior team members, and serve as a technical expert for complex projects. - Install, configure, and troubleshoot network hardware such as Cisco routers, Juniper devices, Ethernet switches, and VoIP systems.
- Manage cabling projects using Cat5, Cat6 cables, and low-voltage wiring standards in compliance with NEC regulations.
- Perform fiber splicing and testing to ensure optimal connectivity and performance across data center networks.
- Conduct routine inspections of CCTV systems, security cameras, and telecommunication equipment to maintain operational integrity.
- Interpret schematics and technical diagrams for system installations or troubleshooting procedures.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client issues promptly and professionally while maintaining clear communication throughout projects.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Customer communication?, * Extensive knowledge of computer networking concepts including LAN (Local Area Network), Ethernet, VLANs, and network protocols.
- Proficiency with Cisco routers, Juniper equipment, Avaya telephony systems, and VoIP technology.
- Hands-on experience with fiber splicing techniques and testing tools such as Ohmmeters.
- Strong electrical background with understanding of NEC standards, low-voltage wiring, power tools use, and electrical safety practices.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools for cable management, equipment installation, and hardware repairs.
- Ability to read schematics, technical manuals, and wiring diagrams accurately.
- Excellent customer service skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving in high-pressure situations.
