- The Technical Applications Engineer serves as a critical technical resource within the Inside Sales organization, supporting sales representatives, consulting engineers, and internal stakeholders by applying deep HVAC product knowledge to real-world project requirements.
- This position combines technical applications support, quotation development, customer interaction, and opportunity management.

What You Will Do:
Help Sales Representatives Win Projects
- Serve as a trusted technical resource for independent sales representatives across North America.
- Assist with product selection, application questions, and project-specific requirements.
- Recommend product configurations and alternative solutions aligned with project objectives.
- Help position products effectively through responsive support and technical expertise.
- Build strong working relationships with representatives and customers.
Support Consulting Engineers
- Answer technical product questions from consulting engineers.
- Provide application guidance and product selection assistance.
- Support specification development and proper product application.
- Serve as a knowledgeable resource throughout the project lifecycle.
Develop Quotations and Technical Solutions
- Review plans, specifications, schedules, and project documentation.
- Prepare accurate and timely quotations for HVAC air-side products.
- Configure products to meet project requirements while coordinating with internal teams.
- Manage multiple active quotations and project opportunities simultaneously.
- Ensure quotations accurately reflect manufacturing capabilities and project needs.
Manage Opportunities Proactively
- Follow up on significant quotes and project opportunities.
- Gather intelligence regarding project status, competitive positioning, and award drivers.
- Identify opportunities to improve win rates and strengthen customer relationships.
- Maintain accurate project, customer, and opportunity information within CRM and ERP systems.
Solve Technical Challenges
- Interpret plans, specifications, and application requirements.
- Resolve questions related to product application and configuration.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, and Sales teams to address complex challenges.
- Deliver practical solutions that meet customer and project requirements.
Requirements
- Strong mechanical aptitude and technical problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, schedules, and technical documentation.
- Ability to translate technical requirements into practical product solutions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- High attention to detail and sound judgment.
- Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to supporting sales representatives and consulting engineers.
- Experience utilizing CRM, ERP, and business software platforms.

Education
- Bachelorâs Degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
- Relevant HVAC applications, technical sales support, quotations, or related industry experience may be considered in lieu of an engineering degree.
Benefits & conditions
This role requires authorization to work in the U.S. without current or future visa sponsorship. The expected salary range for this position is $85,000 - $110,000 depending on experience and qualifications. This role also qualifies for a bonus plan and comprehensive employee benefits.
