Job description

NYDIG is seeking a hands-on Data Center Technician to join our Mining Operations team. In this role, you will play a vital part in maintaining uptime, performance, and safety across our mining sites. You will be responsible for onsite operational support, hardware troubleshooting, asset management, and environmental upkeep., Operational Maintenance & Site Checks

  • Conduct routine site inspections and safety audits to ensure compliance with NYDIG safety protocols.
  • Perform container, screen, and filter cleaning to maintain airflow efficiency and site hygiene.
  • Ensure vehicle and lift equipment is operated in accordance with safety standards.

Miner Maintenance & Troubleshooting

  • Execute basic miner cleaning and physical inspections.
  • Troubleshoot electrical components including checking breakers, fuses, and identifying damaged cables.
  • Identify and retrieve non-operational miners for diagnostics and repair.
  • Replace faulty components such as PSUs, control boards, hashboards, and fans.
  • Flash firmware and perform remote diagnostics as needed.

Asset & Inventory Management

  • Tag and scan hardware for deployment and inventory tracking
  • Utilize miner management software or equivalent systems for site navigation, asset logging, and equipment history tracking.
  • Accurately review kernel logs to analyze hardware issues.

Communication & Reporting

  • Submit regular updates and summaries to ensure team coordination.
  • Escalate critical issues such as network failures, power outages, or safety incidents promptly.

Shipping & Logistics

  • Assist with shipping and receiving operations including reading Bills of Lading (BOLs), loading and unloading shipments, and properly palletizing hardware for transit.
  • Follow proper stacking, wrapping, and jacking procedures to ensure equipment is securely and safely handled.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Teamwork?, This is a field-based, technical role that requires attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently in dynamic data center environments., * 0-2 years of experience in data center, electrical, or mining operations preferred.

  • Basic knowledge of electrical systems and hardware diagnostics.
  • Comfortable working with tools and conducting hands-on repairs.
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems Ability to work in physically demanding environments (lifting, standing, operating heavy machinery).
  • Strong communication skills and team-oriented mindset.
  • Forklift/lift certification is a plus.
