Job description

Ragan Technical Solutions is a golf irrigation consulting firm that builds precise GPS maps of golf course irrigation systems. We’re looking for a reliable, golf-savvy field technician to help us stake out courses and collect GPS data that our team turns into finished maps. This is hands-on outdoor work walking and driving golf courses, locating features and irrigation components, and tagging their exact positions with our GPS equipment. Work is primarily project-based and part-time, with steadier hours likely in the near term as we work through a backlog of course projects.

No irrigation or design background is needed - we’ll train you on the equipment and process. What matters most is that you know your way around a golf course and are dependable in the field.

What You’ll Do

  • Walk and drive golf courses to locate irrigation heads, valves, and course features
  • Physically stake out points according to provided stake books and course maps
  • Use our handheld GPS unit (ArcGIS Field Maps / ESRI Collector - training provided) to tag and record precise locations
  • Verify that collected data is accurate and complete before leaving a site
  • Work efficiently around active play and coordinate with course staff as needed
  • Keep GPS equipment charged, clean, and properly handled
  • Report progress and flag any issues to the office team

Requirements

Do you have a valid Driver’s License license?, Do you have experience in Outdoor work?, * Working knowledge of golf courses - layout, terminology, etiquette, and how to move around safely during play

  • Comfortable working outdoors in Florida heat for extended periods, including a lot of walking
  • Detail-oriented and able to follow mapping instructions precisely
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Comfortable using a smartphone or tablet (we’ll train you on the specific GPS app)
  • Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation
  • Not required: irrigation, design, or GIS/mapping experience - we provide all the training you need

Helpful (But Not Required)

  • Golf course maintenance, grounds, turf, or caddie experience
  • Familiarity with courses in and around The Villages

Benefits & conditions

4.04.0 out of 5 stars The Villages, FL 32159 $18 - $22 an hour - Part-time
