Job description

A busy and supportive school in Hackney is seeking a reliable and proactive IT Technician to join their team immediately. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong basic IT support skills who enjoys working in a fast-paced educational environment and providing hands-on technical support to staff and students.

You will play a key role in maintaining the school’s IT equipment, supporting classroom technology, and ensuring day-to-day IT operations run smoothly across the site., * Installing and configuring Windows operating systems and software applications

  • Resetting account passwords and updating user group memberships
  • Providing first-line IT support to staff and students
  • Replacing toner cartridges and clearing printer paper jams
  • Carrying out classroom maintenance and replacing faulty peripherals including:
  • Keyboards
  • Mice
  • Monitors
  • Headsets and other accessories
  • Assisting with basic troubleshooting of hardware and software issues
  • Supporting the setup of classroom and office IT equipment
  • Logging and responding to IT support requests in a timely manner
  • Ensuring equipment is maintained and working efficiently throughout the school

Requirements

Do you have experience in Windows?, * Previous experience in an IT support or IT technician role

  • Good working knowledge of Windows operating systems
  • Basic understanding of computer hardware and peripherals
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a hands-on approach
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
  • A proactive and reliable attitude
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (preferred but not essential)

Desirable Skills

  • Experience working within a school or educational environment
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365
  • Knowledge of basic networking concepts
  • Experience supporting printers and classroom technology
