Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Assurance Technician to join our fast-paced kitchen commissary team. This role is responsible for ensuring food safety, product quality, and regulatory compliance throughout production operations. The ideal candidate has experience in food manufacturing or commissary environments and is passionate about maintaining high food safety standards., * Monitor and enforce GMPs, sanitation procedures, and food safety policies

  • Verify ingredients, LOT numbers, expiration dates, and production records using work orders
  • Conduct pre-operational and operational inspections, including temperature checks and allergen controls
  • Ensure employees follow proper hygiene and food handling procedures
  • Work closely with production leads to verify proper ingredient usage and process compliance
  • Conduct in-process and finished product inspections for labeling, packaging, weights, and quality
  • Maintain accurate QA records, logs, and documentation
  • Identify non-conformances and assist with corrective actions
  • Participate in internal audits, mock recalls, and traceability exercises
  • Support food safety and quality training initiatives
  • Collaborate with Production, Sanitation, and Maintenance teams
  • Assist the Production Team with additional operational tasks as needed, * Conduct comprehensive quality audits across all stages of kitchen operations to verify compliance with established standards and procedures.
  • Perform regular quality control inspections on raw materials, in-process items, and finished products to identify deviations or potential issues.
  • Implement and monitor quality assurance programs, ensuring adherence to food safety regulations and internal policies.
  • Collect and analyze data related to product quality, process performance, and compliance metrics to support decision-making and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to develop, review, and improve quality management systems and documentation.
  • Document findings from inspections, audits, and tests accurately; prepare detailed reports highlighting areas for corrective action.
  • Assist in training staff on quality systems, inspection techniques, and best practices to foster a culture of quality awareness.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Word processing?, Do you have a High school diploma or GED?, * High school diploma or GED required

  • 1+ year of experience in food manufacturing, food prep, or QA/QC environment preferred
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations, traceability, and QA documentation
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen commissary setting
  • Basic computer skills including Excel and Word
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred, * Proven experience in quality audits, control, or assurance within a manufacturing or food production environment.
  • Strong understanding of quality management principles, systems (such as HACCP or ISO), and QA/QC methodologies.
  • Excellent analysis skills with the ability to interpret data and identify trends or issues promptly.
  • Familiarity with quality inspection tools and techniques used in manufacturing settings.
  • Exceptional attention to detail combined with effective communication skills for reporting findings clearly.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced kitchen commissary environment.
  • Relevant certifications in food safety, quality assurance, or related fields are preferred but not mandatory.
