Job description

We are seeking a skilled Printer/MFD Support Technician with preferably some IT and Microsoft 365 experience to provide technical support for multifunction printers (MFDs) and related network infrastructure. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, installing, and supporting printer hardware, software, and network connectivity within a dynamic environment. This role requires strong communication skills, technical expertise, and a customer-focused approach to ensure seamless operation of printing services across the organisation., * Provide in-depth support for multifunction devices (printers, copiers, scanners) including installation, configuration, and maintenance

  • Troubleshoot hardware issues such as paper jams, hardware failures, and connectivity problems
  • Resolve software-related issues involving printer drivers, firmware updates, and integration with Microsoft 365 applications
  • Manage network connectivity for printers including LAN, TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, firewalls, and TCP configurations
  • Support desktop users with printing-related issues via our help desk platforms
  • Maintain documentation of support activities
  • Collaborate with the IT department to optimise system performance and implement updates or upgrades
  • Ensure security protocols are adhered to when configuring network devices and accessing sensitive information

Requirements

Do you have experience in Technical support?, * Proven experience in technical support roles specialising in printers or multifunction device support

  • Strong knowledge of computer networking concepts including LAN, TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, firewalls, and TCP protocols
  • Familiarity with operating systems such as Windows (including Windows Server), macOS, and Linux environments
  • Experience with desktop support tasks involving hardware troubleshooting and software configuration
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and Microsoft 365 suite integration with printing services
  • Ability to communicate effectively with end-users at all levels of technical understanding
  • Analytical skills to diagnose issues efficiently and implement appropriate solutions
  • Some knowledge of print management software, especially PaperCut and PaperCut, is advantageous
