Michael Amelig

Michael is the President of SAP Business Technology Platform and Member of the Extended Board. His team prioritizes security, reliability, and next-generation user experience for SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP). As SAP’s leading platform, SAP BTP offers the technical foundation essential for driving customer success and enabling Generative AI-powered applications. Additionally, Michael’s team is responsible for the success of core products such as SAP Build, SAP Integration Suite, SAP HANA Cloud and SAP BTP ABAP environment. He joined SAP in 2006 as a Research Associate and has since advanced through various technical leadership roles, including Development Manager and Senior Vice President and Managing Director of SAP Labs Dresden. He has a strong passion in for software architecture and fosters close collaboration across all boundaries. Michael holds a Ph.D. in computer science and a diploma in media computer science from Technische Universität Dresden. A father of four, Michael lives with his family in Dresden.
