Job description
As a Level 2 Support Field Engineer you will join our Infrastructure Support Team which includes both field engineers and remote support engineers., The current vacancy is for a field engineer to work predominantly on customer sites in the Essex area. You will be expected to travel from customer to customer each day, providing onsite IT Support. On the most part you will likely work with the same selection of customers each week.
Your weekly schedule will include a variety of site visits to different customers where you will be the sole onsite IT support contact for the day or half-day. When not working on a customer site you will be expected to provide remote support (working from home).
You will backed up remotely by OfficeXpress's Level 3 engineers, Service Desk Engineers and Service Delivery Manager should you encounter any issues or need to escalate support tickets.
One of OfficeXpress's Project Managers will manage and update your diary with the details of your on-site visits.
You will be responsible for:
- Providing general onsite IT support and assistance.
- Logging all issues on the Service Desk System, including full notes, and recording of time spent.
- Providing customers with regular updates on in-progress support tickets.
- Adhering to SLAs and prioritising support tickets where necessary.
- Escalating complex or high priority tickets where necessary.
- Carrying out routine checks and tasks e.g. rotating backup media.
- Referring sales opportunities to the customers OfficeXpress Account Manager.
The role requires the applicant to hold a clean, full driver's license and you will need access to your own car. Travel and visiting different customer sites are a regular part of the job., As Level 2 Support Engineer you will be working with variety of different IT systems. As such, we'll need you to have at least some proven IT support experience in most of the following:
- Windows 10/11 Operating System.
- Desktop/Laptop hardware.
- Office 365 and Microsoft Office.
- Google Chromebooks.
- Google Workspace (GSuite).
- Mobile Device Management (MDM).
- Printers, MFPs and Print Server.
- Smartboards, Touchscreens and Digital Projectors.
- Device imaging and setup.
- Active Directory and Group Policy.
- Software installation.
- Windows Server & Hyper-V VMs.
- Anti-virus.
- Network Switches & Patch Panels
- WiFi
- Web filtering
Industry recognised certifications from Microsoft e.g. MCSA is highly desirable.
Requirements
Do you have a valid Driving Licence license?, Do you have experience in Windows?, We are looking for an enthusiastic, and professional Level 2 Support Engineer based in the Essex area to join our growing Infrastructure Support Team. Applicants must be willing to travel regularly to customers sites and work independently.
We are looking for individuals who can provide excellent face-to-face IT support and communicate with customers both technically and non-technically. We are looking for someone who can quickly establish a good relationship with our customers and take responsibility for the day-to-day IT administration/troubleshooting for our support customers., Knowledge of applications and services from the Education sector would also be highly desirable e.g. MIS systems., * Smart and presentable.

Benefits & conditions
Basic salary is dependent on experience and starts at £25,000. In addition, we provide holidays
of 25 days plus bank holidays as well as a pension scheme in which as an employer we contribute 5%.
