Job description
We're looking for a Growth Lead to help make Northflank's story resonate across the developer and engineering community. Northflank empowers developers with a self-service platform to build, deploy, and scale any workload on their preferred cloud infrastructure. We've got tens of thousands of developers using our platform, $23M+ in venture backing, and a vision to make production workloads effortless.
But here's the thing: for all the innovation we're delivering, we're not telling our story as loudly or effectively as we could. That's where you come in.
Your mission: amplify our impact, craft a magnetic presence in developer ecosystems, and bring us closer to being the most loved name in cloud-native production workloads.
What you're stepping into:
- A beloved product with a rapidly growing user base of tens of thousands of developers and engineers.
- Developer-first DNA: our audience doesn't do hype-they care about results and authentic engagement.
- A team that ships fast, embraces creativity, and has big ambitions.
- Marketing tools, analytics, and channels that are ready for experimentation and scaling.
Hypotheses we'll hand you:
- Our audiences live where developers gather: Reddit, Stack Overflow, and HackerNews. Building a presence there isn't just an opportunity-it's a necessity.
- SEO is a low-hanging fruit. We want to dominate developer-related search terms, not just rank for them.
- Authentic, data-driven stories (like customer case studies) are our secret weapon for trust and authority.
- Our paid campaigns should enhance our organic reach-not replace it.
- Product announcements are a chance to shine. With every new feature, there's a story to tell and a community to inspire.
- Social media, for us, means LinkedIn first and then exploring untapped platforms where developers hang out.
- Experimentation drives growth. Not every channel or idea will work, but we're willing to bet big on what does., * Own and drive our marketing North Star metric: you'll be responsible for increasing the number of people trying Northflank-whether through our PLG motion or by booking a demo with sales. This could mean creating ways to convert blog visitors into users, optimizing website conversion funnels, or designing campaigns that drive action at every touchpoint.
- SEO Strategy: Own it. From keyword research, backlinking campaigns, and technical SEO, you'll make sure we're discoverable by the right people at the right time.
- Paid media: Manage paid campaigns on platforms like Google Search Ads and LinkedIn, with the goal of driving qualified leads.
- Community engagement: Build a meaningful presence on Reddit, HN, StackOverflow, and other developer hubs. Basically, if there's a thread on the Internet about the best developer platforms, Northflank should be on the list.
- Product launches/announcements: Work closely with the product team to craft announcements. We want to be loud and proud about what we're shipping.
- Content creation: Collaborate with the content team to ideate, write, and commission blog posts (whether that's guides, editorial/opinion articles, or case studies).
- Social media: Lead our LinkedIn strategy and explore other channels where our audience spends time.
- Cross-team collaboration: Work closely with sales and product to align strategies and share insights.
What you'll love about this role:
- You'll be one of the first marketing hires at Northflank, with the freedom to shape the strategy and team (and a clear path to a leadership role).
- You'll collaborate directly with our COO and CEO/co-founder.
- This role is an opportunity to join a Series A startup backed by top-tier investors.
- We have a remote-first culture with opportunities for in-person collaboration.
What we're not looking for:
- Someone focused purely on paid campaigns (though they're a component, they're not the whole story).
- Someone expecting a big marketing team to delegate to-this is a hands-on role where you'll get to create as much as you strategize.
- Someone expecting a fully baked growth playbook-we're looking for you to carve the path and create a story that resonates with our audience.
- A play-it-safe marketer-experimentation and creative risk-taking are part of the job.
- A "clock-in, clock-out" mindset-at Northflank, we're passionate about what we're building and bring that energy to everything we do.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a growth/marketing role, especially if at a similar-stage B2B startup (series A/B).
- You have a track record of identifying and executing strategies to drive leads from marketing initiatives, turning top-of-funnel interest into actionable conversions.
- Exceptional technical writing skills.
- You join developer forums and community discussions not to sell but to engage, learn, and add value.
- You can transform a customer's success story into compelling content that feels authentic, engaging, and genuinely valuable to our audience.
- You bring a pipeline of wild ideas to test monthly.
- You obsess over metrics-SEO rankings, paid ad performance, website traffic, conversion rates.
- You're comfortable with the cloud-native/Kubernetes ecosystem-or eager to learn fast.
Benefits & conditions
- Salary: $130-160k (or equivalent in your local currency)
- Equity: Join us as an owner of our journey.
- PTO: 31 days of paid leave annually.
- Flexibility: Work remotely from anywhere in North America or Europe.
- Comprehensive Benefits: We've got you covered with healthcare, retirement, and more.
