Job description

I am supporting a client in the technical and product testing sector who is seeking a Technologist to join their Quality Services team. This is a great role for someone who enjoys practical, hands-on work, travel, and building strong client relationships across a global network.

About the Team

You'll be joining a specialist team responsible for delivering both audit and calibration services to laboratories across the world. This work supports organisations in maintaining accurate, compliant and repeatable product testing capabilities. The role combines technical expertise, auditing, calibration and direct customer engagement.

The Role

This position involves travelling within the UK and internationally (approximately up to 20 weeks per year) to deliver audit and calibration services. Trips may range from day visits in the UK to multi-week assignments overseas. Full training and support will be provided, including the opportunity to complete recognised ISO auditor qualifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Calibrating physical testing equipment to specified standards

  • Conducting laboratory audits against internal and client criteria

  • Assessing technical staff in test method performance

  • Preparing audit reports and calibration certificates within set timescales

  • Coordinating multiple client projects and travel schedules

  • Working collaboratively with colleagues when completing joint travel assignments

  • Acting as a positive representative for the organisation and its services

Requirements

  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly, including overseas

  • Strong technical or practical mindset with eagerness to learn

  • Excellent organisation and time management skills

  • Confident working independently and as part of a team

  • Strong communication skills across email, phone and face-to-face

  • Competent IT user (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

  • Valid passport and UK driving licence

Desirable Experience (not essential):

  • Auditing or laboratory experience

  • ISO 9001 / ISO 17025 training or exposure

  • Calibration or testing experience

  • International business travel
