Job description
We are expanding our digital team and looking for a Senior Ecommerce Specialist. You will assist our existing team by contributing to day-to-day trading tasks and taking ownership of the measurement plan, site engagement instrumentation and customer behaviour insight.
This is a head office role based in Burgess Hill, 15 minutes outside Brighton. Monday to Friday, 9 to 5, with 1 hour for lunch.
Role purpose
You will be a key contributor in delivering the day-to-day trading plan across our sites, ensuring products, campaigns and merchandising are accurate and live. At the same time, lead the measurement and insight that make it better each week by building robust tagging, GA4 events, funnels, and clear reporting on customer behaviour that drives prioritised actions and measurable uplifts in engagement and conversion., Trading and campaign execution
- Set up and QA new products, campaigns, promotions and creative in the ecommerce platform / CMS.
- Assist with the visual merchandising of key categories and landing pages, maintaining best sellers and priority lines.
- Contribute to regular website testing and UAT to eliminate issues and improve user experience alongside SEO best practices.
- Support on site search, navigation and content updates to improve conversion.
Measurement & Analytics
- Maintain our Google Tag Manager containers for ecommerce tracking, including data layer mapping and naming conventions.
- Be the go to person for configuring GA4 events, parameters, funnels and engagement reporting.
- Produce ad hoc deep dives on promotions, ranges, campaigns, channels and website features.
- Own the visibility of customer purchasing journeys to spot friction points or areas for opportunity.
- Maintain source of truth definitions for KPIs and ensure consistent reporting across teams.
- Translate data into clear recommendations with expected commercial impact.
Tools you will use
- GA4 and Looker Studio or equivalent for dashboards and analysis.
- Google Sheets and Excel for modelling and reports.
- Google Tag Manager, Search Console and Merchant Centre familiarity.
- CMS and ecommerce platform tooling.
- Ticketing and project tools such as Asana, Jira or Trello.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Microsoft Office?, * Experience in an ecommerce trading, performance or analytics / agency role, typically 3 to 4 years.
- Strong numeracy with advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills, including lookups, pivot tables and basic forecasting.
- Proficient with GA4, GTM and the data-layer.
- Commercially minded with a track record of turning insight into action and measurable results.
Nice to have
- Experience with A/B testing tools and CRO methods.
- Working knowledge of HTML or CSS for content tweaks.
- Understanding of software development and database concepts.
Measures of success
- Accurate, timely weekly engagement reports and dashboards, adopted by the rest of the business.
- Demonstrable uplift in conversion or other KPIs from implemented recommendations.
- Fewer defects and faster time to resolve trading issues.
- Documented and adopted process improvements that save time or reduce errors.
