Job description

We're looking for a proactive and safety-focused Fleet Support Technician to join our Fleet Control team. In this critical support role, you'll be the first point of contact for Drivers reporting train faults, working quickly to resolve issues and minimise disruption to our services. Your ability to manage incidents efficient. Key Responsibilities

  • Raise accurate work orders for all defects, detailing the fault, attempted mitigations, and outcomes in line with the Fleet Support Technician Workflow policy.

  • Coordinate technical support from third parties, including Technical On-Call and the Train Maintenance Provider (TMP).

  • Maintain accurate and complete data entry in the Asset Management System and monitor shared inboxes for timely fault reporting.

  • Identify and record repeat defects, and escalate potential safety-related incidents in line with RM/RT8250 and internal policies.

  • Utilise the Decision Support Tool for fault management, raising change requests where no mitigation procedure exists.

  • Monitor real-time remote train data to detect faults, working closely with Remote Performance Support Managers (RPSMs)., At Greater Anglia we are proud of the work that we do. Requirements

Do you have experience in Microsoft Word?, * HNC/HND (or equivalent) qualification in an engineering-related discipline, with 5+ years' experience in engineering or rolling stock.

  • The candidate should have effective IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Safety aware, with an understanding of safety management processes and the ability to identify and assess potential risks.
  • Candidates will be subject to a Right to Work check & DBS check for this position., * Have a friendly, approachable demeanor with the ability to communicate effectively
  • We are looking for someone eager to learn, an effective presenter and communicator, capable of writing code, scripts, processes and procedures. Basic understanding of engineering principles and operational railway knowledge is also required.
  • Are calm under pressure, able to think on their feet, and able to handle various situations
  • Possess a "can-do" attitude and enjoy working as part of a team

About the company

The new Greater Anglia franchise began operating on 16 October 2016. We provide intercity, commuter and rural services throughout Essex, Suffolk, Norfolk, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire, including the Stansted Express service.
