Job description
Kantar Media supplies Audience Viewing Measurement Data to Barb Audiences Ltd (formerly known as the Broadcasters' Audience Research Board). Our Field Technician Team visits panel homes to install and maintain specialised monitoring equipment and software that accurately and securely collects this vital data, 365 days a year., Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, the Support and Product Technician plays a key role in driving the development, testing, and optimisation of metering hardware and software, including PM7 and Focal Meter devices. The role involves close collaboration with engineering and product teams, while also providing technical support to field technicians and investigating complex issues through targeted real-world testing., The role will involve regular work from home and occasional travel.
Time will be required at Grays Inn Road and Hangar Lane (London) site to work directly with engineering and product teams.
Occasional home visits may be necessary to validate real-world performance or troubleshoot escalated issues.
Flexibility in working hours and travel is expected as part of this collaborative and hands-on role.

Requirements
The ideal candidate will have experience in a support environment. An excellent communicator with exemplary customer facing skills, able to articulate solutions to current team members.
Essential Skills & Experience
Strong technical knowledge of PC hardware and software, including experience with Microsoft 365 (MSO365).
Comprehensive understanding of core functions and operation of PM7 and Focal Meter (FM) systems.
Solid grasp of home networking principles and AV connectivity standards (e.g., HDMI, composite, etc.).
Hands-on experience with embedded hardware or IoT devicesideally including exposure to firmware testing or contributing feedback to development teams.
Excellent problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
Able to work both independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
Comfortable working with evolving product specifications and contributing to iterative development and testing cycles.
Clear and concise communicatorable to translate field-level technical issues into actionable feedback for engineering teams.
Self-motivated and capable of managing remote work schedules with minimal supervision.
Full UK driving licence (a company vehicle is provided).
Desirable Attributes
Prior experience supporting field-based technical teams.
Understanding of test and QA methodologies for hardware / software products.
Experience working in Agile development environments or with product managers.
