Job description

Our client, a leading name in the financial services space, are looking to hire a Junior Product Owner on a contract basis, running initially for 6 months with potential extensions.

You will build smart, AI-powered, digital products that help people manage their money in simpler, smarter ways.

We're looking for a proactive, digitally fluent Junior Product Owner.

You collaborate with design, engineering and commercial, running workshops and discovery sessions and keeping stakeholders aligned and up to date.

What You'll Do:

  • Own and manage the product backlog for your squad, writing clear user stories and prioritising features based on customer value and business impact.
  • Lead sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives, ensuring delivery is focused and efficient.
  • Translate strategic goals into actionable product plans, with clear outcomes and measurable success criteria.
  • Track progress against OKRs and ensure delivery aligns with roadmap and customer needs.
  • Introduce new AI techniques to the team
  • Conduct and interpret user research
  • Validate decisions with qualitative and quantitative data
  • Use insights to refine features and inform the roadmap

Requirements

  • Experience in a Product role (can be junior only a one or two years experience) - Essential
  • Experience working in Financial Services or Fintech on Digital Products - Essential
  • Familiarity with agile delivery - Essential
  • Comfortable with tools such as Jira, Figma, Confluence, Notion
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ideally, exposure to fintech, consumer tech, or startup environments would be brilliant

Benefits & conditions

  • 6 months initially - Likelihood of extensions
  • Day Rate Contact - £300 - £400 a day pay to umbrella
  • 1 day per week in Birmingham - Open to location but must be UK based
  • Must have full rights to work in the UK and be available to start in Early December
