You'll lead the charge in enhancing our reporting infrastructure-designing and developing smarter, more intuitive reporting solutions that empower teams with real-time insights. From streamlining day-to-day technical support to ensuring robust quality assurance, your work will underpin the reliability and accuracy of the data we depend on.

Collaboration is key: you'll work across departments to integrate systems, improve workflows, and identify opportunities for automation and innovation. Whether it's refining existing processes or introducing new technologies, your contributions will help shape a more connected, data-driven college environment.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives on problem-solving, enjoys working with data and systems, and wants to make a tangible impact on how information supports education and operational excellence. Responsibilities You will be responsible for:

  • Design, develop, and maintain SQL-based reports and dashboards
  • Develop data integrations between MIS and other systems
  • Ensure data architecture supports accurate and efficient External Funding Return production
  • Ensure External Funding Returns structure supports all funding streams (16-19, Adult Skills, Advance Learner Loans & Apprenticeships)
  • Collaborate with the Director of MIS & Business Processes to ensure audit-readiness
  • Lead on production of timely, accurate data for KPIs, Ofsted, and other stakeholders

Requirements

  • High-level SQL and data modelling knowledge
  • Power BI or other dashboarding tools
  • In-depth understanding of Further Education MIS systems and External Funding Returns structure
  • Experience working in or supporting the further education sector
  • The ability to plan and organise a varied and demanding workload under one's own initiative
  • Ability to innovate and initiate new working practices in order to improve service provision

Benefits & conditions

In return, you will receive:

  • Invest in Your Growth : Access a wide range of training, in-house coaching, workshops, and funding for qualifications. Opportunities for funded research, with potential international travel.
  • Generous Pension Plans : Benefit from either the Local Government Pension Scheme or Teachers' Pension Scheme.
  • Ample Time Off : Enjoy a generous annual leave package to maintain a healthy work-life balance.
  • Exclusive Discounts : Get an NUS TOTUM card, offering discounts with hundreds of retailers.
