Job description
We are looking a passionate and innovative Data Insight Analyst to join our Data Analytics Team an individual that is driven and highly focused with previous experience working with a variety of data analytics products techniques and tooling
In this role you will maintain a range of existing data analytics products and services managed by the team You will also work on a range of small and large projects to develop new products taking responsibility for delivery of work packages across the full project lifecycle
Enabling business teams with selfserve analytics is a key part of our future roadmap In this role you will work with the team and wider business to expand our selfserve products you will also champion existing products to drive adoption
Key responsibilities
1 Supporting and maintaining the existing portfolio of data and analytics products and services
2 Deliver new data and analytics products using a variety of analytics tooling and techniques This will include the full range of data analytics products raw dataset cleaned datasets management information reports selfservice dashboards statistical analysis and optimisation modelling
3 Contributing to the full endtoend delivery lifecycle of our projects including but not limited to requirements gathering analysis design development testing and release Working
4 Identifying recommending and implementing continuous improvement to our products and processes
5 Engaging with business teams across client both technical and non technical and establish cohesive crossfunctional relationships
6 Training coaching and disseminating best practice to help establish a collaborative community of Data Analytics excellence across client.
7 Championing selfserve analytics driving adoption and supporting enablement of business teams to be more selfsufficient in meeting their Data Analytics requirements
Requirements
Do you have experience in Tableau?, Do you have a Master's degree?, 1 Degree level education in a relevant subject eg data analytics mathematics statistics computer science or demonstrable and credible work experience in data and analytics to that level
2 Strong SQL programming skills and some experience of programming in Python are a must for this role as well as expert level Excel skills
3 Demonstrable experience of the following
a Using a range of tools and techniques for report building adhoc queries and data mining
b Data analysis profiling cleaning transforming enrichment and modelling
c Working with diverse and complex data sets and a range of different data types
d Working on successfully delivered small and large data analytics projects
e Data transformation and data preparation using tooling such as Tableau Prep Alteryx or Python
f Developing interactive dashboards that are simple and intuitive using modern data visualisation tools strong Tableau experience would be a plus
g. Software Development Life Cycle SDLC practises relevant to Data Analytics products
h.Training coaching and mentoring others
Desirable Skills Experience
1 A postdoctoral qualification eg MSc PhD in a relevant field
2 The ideal candidate will also have previous experience andor knowledge of the following
a Mathematics and statistical techniques particularly in the context of data analytics
b A range of project methodologies such as Waterfall or Agile
c Working with cloudbased data warehouse data lake architectures and cloud technologies relevant to Data Analytics
d Artificial Intelligence AI technologies such as Machine Learning ML
e Working within the utilities sector or another regulated environment is beneficial but not essential
f Requirements gathering design development and testing methods techniques
g Data Lifecycle Management DLM disciplines relevant to Data Analytics
