Job description

Are you ready to launch your career with a competitive salary, excellent benefits, and the chance to work at the heart of the electricity network in Maidstone? UK Power Networks is seeking a dedicated Technical Support Assistant to join our Major Connections team, reporting to the Commercial Analyst. This permanent role offers a salary of £42,005, and a 3% bonus

Imagine the satisfaction of providing exceptional customer service to Major Connections customers, helping them navigate the process of connecting to our electricity network. You'll play a crucial part in managing project queues, ensuring that every connection remains on track to meet delivery commitments. By collaborating with customers, you'll resolve queries, offer advice, and interpret technical requirements, drawing upon your understanding of the electricity network. Your role will also involve screening enquiries, supporting Commercial Project Managers in assessing connection points, and maintaining up-to-date system records.

As a Technical Support Assistant, you will support the team by processing re-quotes and re-validations, understanding customer technical needs, and ensuring timely and accurate provision of quotes for non-contestable connection costs. You'll carry out simple point of connection analyses, produce estimates, and assist with compliance tracking and legal processes for project delivery. You will also help review project costs against budgets, monitor information entered into SAP and other systems, and contribute to training and business excellence initiatives-all while upholding the highest standards of customer service and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

If you possess (or are willing to work towards) City & Guilds 2304 in Electrical Engineering or a similar qualification, are detail-oriented, customer-focused, and have experience with Microsoft packages and SAP, this is your chance to start a meaningful career in the energy sector. Previous office-based experience and knowledge of the Connections business process is desirable, but this role is ideal for those with limited technical knowledge eager to gain hands-on experience in electrical distribution network design.
