Job description

Warwick Clinical Trials Unit (Warwick CTU) is a dynamic academic unit undertaking clinical trials addressing real issues of local, national and international importance.

Randomised controlled trials are developed in selective, focused areas that are consistent with the research strategy of Warwick Medical School.

Current areas of research include musculoskeletal rehabilitation, orthopaedics, emergency care, critical care and cancer.

Contract Type

  • This role will be offered on an indefinite basis, but linked to external funding. Funding currently confirmed until 31st December 2026.

About You

You will join a busy programming team within Warwick CTU as an Application Support Analyst, working closely with members of the programming team and other Warwick CTU staff. Your primary role will be to analyse user requirements and create web-based clinical trial forms (Case Report Form) using the programming team's in-house design tools.

You will also provide support to a busy helpdesk, assisting with the resolution of issues raised by users of our clinical trial applications. Responsibilities will include administering user accounts, crafting user-requested reports, updating databases through SQL scripts, troubleshooting application-related issues, and collaborating with other team members as required.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Teaching?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, Excellent analytical, attention to detail and communication skills are essential in all aspects of the role. The ability to maintain confidentiality and deal with research data sensitively and effectively according to standard operating procedures and regulatory requirements (ICH Good Clinical Practice, UK General Data Protection Regulation and Data Protection Act 2018) is essential.

The CTU specialises in later phase trials that investigate complex health states and interventions. Warwick Applied Health works closely with Warwick CTU, drawing on its expertise in quantitative and qualitative methodologies to inform and develop clinical and health care practice.
