Job description
Having a really effective, easy to use website is key to our achieving our ambition - 'To make Westmorland and Furness a digitally enabled, innovative, and inclusive council, delivering the best possible services to all.'
You'll work as part of the web team, your work will involve:
- Creating and managing websites
- Working with developers to fix website issues or develop new functionality
- Meeting internal clients to work out what they need
- Working with our developers and web host to deliver solutions
- Creating plans and prototypes with colleagues to decide how the website orapplication will work
- Testing code in different programming languages
- Building databases and transfering information between databases usingApplications Program Interfaces (APIs)use software to create the layout of buttons, links and pictures
Requirements
Do you have experience in Drupal?, * Have knowledge of web CMS systems, knowledge of Drupal and LocalGovDrupal is preferable
- Understand the web accessibility requirements for gov.uk websites and apps
- Understand website security best practise
- Be thorough and pay attention to detail
- Have the ability to write code in various programming languages
- Demonstrate ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical colleagues
- Demonstrate analytical thinking skills
- Be flexible and open to change
- Show you can use your initiative
- Have experience of agile working within project teams
