The Network Engineering Specialist undertakes engineering activities that contributes towards the delivery of client technical requirements, deploying optimal networking and connectivity solutions that enable clients and the enterprise to achieve their operational and business goals.
To manage, grow and maintain a team of highly motivated 24x7x365 1st, 2nd and 3rd Line dedicated Technical Support Professionals/Specialists on a large complex highly secure Managed Service with direct accountability to senior Military Officers and Civil Servants at ministerial level.
This job role is based outside of Cheltenham within a 60-minute commute. Onsite (5 days office based). Plus 1 in 2 call out obligation. Monday-Friday 9am-5pm. You must be able to obtain DV Security Clearance in order to start this role. You will need to have lived in the UK for 10 years+ to obtain this.
What you'll be doing
- Accountable for managing and technical leadership of critical strategic National UK infrastructure.
- Responsibility to customer authority and multiple user authorities at senior Military/Civil Service and ministerial levels.
- Accountable for platform System Administration in supporting HM Government Defence Operations.
- Responsibility in developing and maintaining the Business and Service Continuity Model and strategy.
- To be Single Point of Contact (SPOC)/direct leadership and act as director for ALL critical Incidents and Major Incidents across the Managed Service whilst deputising for your Senior Manager.
