Job description

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Document Controller to join our client, a long-established construction contractor delivering a wide range of projects. This is an excellent role for someone experienced in construction or project administration who is looking to take ownership of document management and gain exposure to multi-disciplinary project teams., As a Document Controller, you will manage all incoming and outgoing project documentation, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficient distribution across multiple projects. You will administer Viewpoint for Projects (VfP), liaise with project teams, subcontractors, and clients, and support smooth project delivery through robust document control practices., * Maintain and manage all project documentation in line with protocols.

  • Administer VfP / CDE systems including folder creation, workflows, and user permissions.
  • Upload, publish, and distribute documents while ensuring revision control and accuracy.
  • Liaise with project managers, engineers, consultants, and subcontractors to ensure timely submissions.
  • Prepare transmittals, registers, reports, and support handover documentation (O&M manuals, as-builts).
  • Ensure compliance with project Document Management Plans and support internal/external audits.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Document Controller in construction.
  • Proficiency in Viewpoint for Projects (VfP) or similar systems (Aconex, Asite, Procore, BIM 360).
  • Strong understanding of document control standards, numbering systems, and revision control.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organisational skills, and ability to prioritise tasks under pressure.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management principles.
  • Experience across small and large-scale construction projects.
  • Training or certification in document control or information management.
