Data Center Engineer

• Perform daily operational tasks, including hardware health checks, environmental monitoring, and physical inspections within the data center.
• Install, rack, cable, and configure server, storage, and network equipment in alignment with industry standards and organizational procedures.
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware issues such as server failures, disk replacements, power faults, and connectivity problems.
• Execute break/fix activities under guidance from vendors or remote support teams, including component swaps, firmware updates, and diagnostics.
• Provide hands-on support during high-priority incidents (P1/P2) and scheduled maintenance windows in coordination with remote teams.
• Assist with network patching tasks involving fiber and copper cabling, labeling, and patch panel updates.
• Maintain accurate asset inventories, ensuring proper tagging, documentation updates, and rack diagram accuracy.
• Adhere to data center security protocols, access controls, and operational SOPs.
• Support server provisioning and decommissioning, including data wiping, packing, and preparation for shipment or disposal.
• Uphold structured and clean cable management following best practices.
• Escort vendors and third-party engineers onsite, ensuring compliance with safety and operational guidelines.
• Participate in power, cooling, and infrastructure maintenance activities in collaboration with facility teams.
• Coordinate with hardware vendors for diagnostics, RMA processing, and replacements.
• Update logs, maintain detailed incident and task records, and work effectively within ITSM tools such as ServiceNow, Remedy, or Jira.

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Data Center Engineer to join our on-site operations team. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in data center hardware support, racking and stacking, cabling, break/fix activities, and hands-on support across compute, network, and storage infrastructure. This is a fully on-site role requiring 4-6 years of direct experience in data center operations., * 4-6 years of hands-on experience in data center hardware operations and on-site technical support.

• Strong knowledge of x86 server platforms (e.g., Dell, HP, Lenovo, Cisco UCS).
• Experience with storage systems, SAN components, and fibre channel technologies.
• Good understanding of network hardware including switches, routers, and firewalls, along with cabling standards.
• Familiarity with data center power distribution, cooling concepts, and rack layout best practices.
• Ability to interpret rack diagrams, network schematics, and floor plans accurately.
• Experience with KVM tools, remote console access, and basic BIOS/ILO/DRAC functions.
• Strong documentation skills and proficiency with ITSM platforms.
