Senior Backend Engineer | Go / Java | Remote A leading scheduling platform, used by over 30 million people, is hiring a Senior Backend Engineer to work remotely in Spain. In this role, you will be a builder and problem-solver who thrives on technical challenge. You will help shape the core backend systems, designing services that are highly performant, scalable, and resilient. What You Will Do Design and develop robust, scalable services using Go and Java . Architect and optimise Event-Driven Systems leveraging Kafka . Tackle intricate problems related to global Time synchronisation in a distributed environment. Collaborate cross-functionally with product and design teams. Champion engineering excellence, focusing on code quality, CI/CD, and observability. Contribute to a culture of continuous learning and thoughtful engineering.

Our Ideal Candidate We seek a backend engineer with strong systems thinking focused on delivering customer value. Your background should include: Deep knowledge of CS fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, distributed systems). Proven history of shipping high-quality, production-ready services . Professional experience in Go and/or Java . Practical experience building reactive systems , especially with Kafka . A passion for tackling complex technical challenges and crafting scalable solutions. Familiarity with Cloud (AWS/GCP/Azure) and Containerisation (Docker/K8s) (Nice to Have). Strong communication and ability to work in an agile, collaborative environment.
