Job description

As a Systems Support Manager, you will lead the delivery unit's system and database management, ensuring platforms are maintained, optimised, and used effectively. You'll provide expert support and guidance on system use and asset data management, helping to ensure accurate, high-quality information that supports safe and efficient railway operations.

About The Role (External)

Every day will be different, but you can expect to be involved in the following activities:

As the lead for systems and data management within the delivery unit, you will oversee the upgrade, maintenance, and effective use of all relevant systems and databases. This includes ensuring they are consistently updated with accurate information from both internal teams and third-party sources.

You will provide guidance and training on system usage, monitor data quality, and resolve any issues that impact performance. Ensuring compliance with corporate data standards will be a key part of the role.

You'll also manage the integrated risk management process, including the Active Risk Manager (ARM) database, and support business planning through regular audits, reporting, and data analysis.

Additionally, you'll produce management reports and maintain accurate records across systems, including updates to the Hazard Directory, to support safe and efficient maintenance delivery.

Requirements

  • Good knowledge of maintenance systems and databases
  • Good analytical skills
  • Good interpersonal, communication and organisation skills

We would also like but it isn't crucial to have/to be:

  • Knowledge of maintenance delivery processes and techniques
  • Knowledge of coaching techniques, Safe behaviour is a requirement of working for Network Rail. Applicants should be able to demonstrate their awareness of our safety vision

  • Salary: Band 4.B - s tarting at £35,582 and raising to £42,218.
