Job description
The Investment Platforms team bridges the gap between Investments and Technology, partnering closely with the Investment Directorate and Investment Operations teams to deliver technology change and operate platform systems that underpin our Investment Proposition. They manage a diverse and specialist technology landscape, including discrete applications, platform technologies, underlying data stores, market data solutions, and 3rd party managed services. The team works with the broader technology community to ensure Investment systems are scalable, secure, and aligned with business priorities, enabling innovation and operational excellence across the investment lifecycle.
As an Investment Platform Analyst, you'll be providing crucial support for the SJP's Investment Platform; an ecosystem of applications, managed services, market data, and data stores. You'll be responsible for the enhancement and maintenance of both internal & 3rd party applications to ensure the platform is a reliable and effective resource for investment teams enabling the continued evolution of the Investment Proposition.
You'll support the end-to-end development and release of features for internal systems using a broad range of technologies, in addition to ensuring availability of services by monitoring and managing job execution, control processes and issue management where needed.
What you'll be doing:
- Assisting the team's SMEs by providing support on the Investment Platform's applications, data stores, and services.
- Monitoring Investment Platform applications automated job execution, investigating and escalating issues for resolution.
- Providing SME investment knowledge to technical development teams.
- Assisting in bridging the gap between centralized data teams and investment teams to ensure the integrity of the data estate.
- Supporting Investment Data Stewardship in representing investment data interests with colleagues across the group.
- Providing support to investment teams, helping them to self-serve data and reporting needs through platform applications.
- Responsible for configuration, administration and maintenance of programmatic financial analysis environments, ensuring environments are accurate and fit for purpose.
- Collaborating with matrix-managed Data and Technology teams to support the delivery of changes and enhancements to the platform.
- Promoting development standards & best practices within Investment team EUDA workflows & processes.
- Assisting in identifying and resolving breaks in instrument and position data to ensure applications are loaded within required timeframes.
- Reconciling platform systems to ensure the consistency and integrity of information across the entire ecosystem.
Who we're looking for:
We're looking for an investment technology SME who can collaborate with colleagues across Data, Technology, and Vendor Management teams on larger projects to ensure enhancements & evolutions to the platform are sufficiently robust & resilient.
Requirements
- Experienced in building & maintaining applications to support internal business processes and workflows.
- Highly capable in data extraction manipulation and reporting using Python and SQL.
- Proficiency in front end app development (React/JavaScript) and web framework (Flask/Django/FastAPI)
- Familiarity with code versioning, optimisation and associated best practices.
- Data analysis to investigate and quality control datasets feeding applications. Ideally within an asset management context
Desirable Criteria
- Building & executing CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience in using and supporting investment technology platforms such as Bloomberg, Factset, Aladdin, Axioma,
- Knowledge of typical financial/asset management data domains (positions, security, prices) and common asset classes
Special Requirements:
- Some business travel may be necessary
