Job description

  • Strategy - Risk assess our current IT architecture and help create a strategic plan to support our vision, enabling the firm to make best use of technology whilst incorporating/adapting existing project plans as well as new/upcoming technologies, including the rapid advancement in AI. The plan needs to be managed in line with budgetary/resource requirements.
  • Technical and operational expertise - Maintain continuity of IT services, working with our third-party vendors. Oversee the management of our IT infrastructure, including networks, hardware, and software. Ensure the security of IT systems and data, implementing best practices for cybersecurity. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards, design/introduction of relevant policies and procedures including disaster recovery plans.
  • Projects - The effective identification, prioritisation, and implementation of upcoming projects. Projects currently outlined are Windows 12, Copilot, vendor integrations etc.
  • Leadership, training & development - Lead the AI Committee to harness potential technologies in a safe manner. Ensure staff training on core IT systems is available in order to support individuals and teams to work effectively. Continued mentoring and development of the IT Assistant. Promote Town's values and act as a positive role model to others at all levels by proactively sharing knowledge and recognising and supporting the success of others. Keep up to date with the latest trends and professional developments.

Requirements

  • Professional in their approach, with strong analytical and evaluation skills
  • Strong technically, enjoy investing in their own personal growth and development, and be enthusiastic about the prospect of contributing to the success of the firm
  • Have experience in a law firm or other professional services environment
  • Be able to work independently, to prioritise and organise work effectively
  • Be sensitive to stakeholder needs and requirements, and adept at building and maintaining trusting relationships with vendors and colleagues
  • Have excellent communication skills, with the ability to adapt their approach to the needs of the client and others
