Job description
We are seeking a dedicated Application Support Analyst to provide comprehensive technical assistance and support to our organisation's users. The successful candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting software and hardware issues, maintaining system performance, and ensuring seamless operation of various IT services. The ideal applicant will possess strong communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving, with experience in a variety of operating systems and network protocols., * Provide first-line support via help desk tickets, assisting users with software, hardware, and network-related issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve software problems across multiple platforms including Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems.
- Manage user accounts and permissions within Active Directory and other identity management tools.
- Support and maintain Microsoft Windows Server environments, including configuration of services such as DNS, DHCP, and VPN connectivity.
- Monitor network performance and security using tools such as firewalls, TCP/IP protocols, LAN configurations, and SCCM.
- Assist with the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of computer hardware and peripherals.
- Utilise BMC Remedy, ServiceNow, Jira or similar ticketing systems to track incidents and service requests efficiently.
- Conduct regular system updates, patches, and backups to ensure security compliance and operational stability.
- Collaborate with IT teams on infrastructure projects involving firewall management, LAN/WAN optimisation, and server upgrades.
- Document troubleshooting steps and solutions for future reference to improve support processes.
Requirements
Do you have experience in macOS?, * Strong knowledge of computer networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, LANs, and firewalls.
- Proven experience in desktop support across Windows (including Windows Server) and macOS operating systems; familiarity with Linux is advantageous.
- Proficiency in Active Directory management alongside experience with Microsoft Office suite applications.
- Skilled in software troubleshooting for enterprise applications; experience with SCCM is desirable.
- Familiarity with BMC Remedy, ServiceNow or Jira for incident management.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical users.
- Strong analysis skills to diagnose complex technical problems quickly and accurately.
- Knowledge of computer hardware components and their maintenance requirements.
