As a Project Engineer with a specialization in HVAC diagram development, you'll guide your discipline from concept to completion-ensuring seamless integration of onboard climate systems in some of the world's finest vessels.
In this role, you'll be responsible for the design, coordination, and leadership of HVAC-related engineering activities. You'll oversee the full scope of diagram development, ensuring precision, system integration, and regulatory compliance, while collaborating with both internal teams and external stakeholders. In this role, you'll be the go-to expert for HVAC diagrams, ensuring system layouts are efficient, buildable, and meet all performance and safety requirements. Your contribution will directly impact the comfort, functionality, and livability of every yacht you help bring to life.
Manage the engineering scope of HVAC systems within the project, focusing on design quality, timelines, and budget. Develop and review detailed HVAC diagrams, technical drawings, and specifications in line with project requirements. Ensure HVAC systems comply with Class and Flag regulations and meet all safety and performance standards. Act as the technical authority in HVAC, providing insight and direction on complex system challenges. Facilitate coordination with other disciplines to ensure smooth system integration across the vessel. Lead and mentor a team of engineers, encouraging collaboration and continuous technical development. Communicate effectively with the Owner's team and stakeholders to align expectations and resolve design-related issues. Continuously optimize engineering processes to improve quality, efficiency, and innovation in HVAC design.
Requirements
A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. A minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering within the shipbuilding industry. Proven experience leading and managing engineering teams. Strong command of 3D AutoCAD; experience with Teamcenter and Cadmatic is highly preferred. Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written, with the ability to tailor your approach to your audience. Technical expertise in yacht systems, with a focus on HVAC, climate control, and onboard environmental systems. Experience with cable and panel routing, systems integration, and related budgeting and weight considerations. Solid understanding of exterior outfitting, moving equipment, and technical coordination. In-depth knowledge of yacht production and construction processes.
