Job description

The Data Management Consultant plays a critical role in ensuring that data is accurate, consistent, complete, and trustworthy. This role supports the implementation of data governance frameworks, manages data quality rules and procedures, and oversees metadata, data lineage, and glossary management using industry-standard practices and tools.

Day to day:

Data Quality Management

  • Design, implement, and maintain data quality rules, thresholds, and validation procedures.
  • Monitor data quality metrics, highlight issues and trends and initiate corrective actions
  • Collaborate with data owners and stewards to resolve data quality issues and improve standards.
  • Use tools like Informatica Data Quality, or Databricks to automate profiling, cleansing, and monitoring.

Data Lineage & Traceability

  • Document and maintain data lineage across systems and processes to ensure traceability and transparency.
  • Use tools such as Microsoft Purview, Collibra, or Informatica Enterprise Data Catalog to visualize and manage lineage.
  • Ensure lineage supports regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR, BCBS 239) and internal audit requirements.

Metadata & Glossary Management

  • Develop and maintain a European business glossary to standardize terminology across departments and European markets.
  • Manage metadata repositories to ensure metadata is complete, accurate, and accessible.
  • Leverage tools like Microsoft Purview or Informatica for metadata and glossary management.

Governance & Compliance

  • Align data quality practices with DLL Enterprise data governance policies.
  • Ensure compliance with data-related regulations
  • Participate in governance councils and contribute to policy development.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Act as a bridge between markets, IT, and Enterprise data governance teams.
  • Provide training and support on data quality tools and best practices.
  • Promote a data quality culture across the organization.

Requirements

Do you have a Master's degree?, * Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Management, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in data quality, data governance, or data management roles.
  • Strong understanding of data quality frameworks, metadata management, and data lineage.
  • Hands-on experience with tools like Informatica, Purview, or Collibra.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Fluent in English; Dutch is a plus.

Preferred Certifications:

  • DAMA DMBOK Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP)
