Job description
We are seeking a skilled IT Support Technician to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive technical support to end-users, troubleshoot software and hardware issues, and maintain the organization's IT infrastructure. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, supporting a variety of operating systems and network systems, ensuring seamless technology operations across the organization. Responsibilities
Technical Support & Troubleshooting
- Provide first- and second-line IT support across all group sites. * Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues. * Manage and prioritise IT support tickets, ensuring timely and effective resolution. * Deliver support in person, over the phone, and via remote access tools.
Hardware & Software Management
- Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, mobile devices, telephony systems, and peripherals. * Support software deployments, upgrades, and configuration changes. * Ensure compliance with software licensing and IT standards.
Network Administration Support
Assist with LAN, WAN, and wireless network maintenance. * Troubleshoot connectivity and network performance issues. * Support implementation of network security measures such as firewalls and VPNs.
System Maintenance & Security
- Carry out system updates, patches, and scheduled maintenance. * Follow IT security procedures and promote good cyber hygiene practices. * Assist in monitoring and escalating potential security threats.
User Support & Training
- Provide guidance to employees on IT systems, tools, and best practices. * Assist with creating user documentation or training materials.
IT Asset Management
- Maintain accurate records of IT hardware, software, and licenses. * Support the procurement, deployment, and disposal of IT equipment. * Manage warranty claims, repairs, and hardware lifecycle processes.
Collaboration & Project Participation
- Contribute to group-wide IT projects, system rollouts, and technology improvements. * Work collaboratively with the IT Manager and technical specialists to support continuous enhancement.
Requirements
Do you have experience in macOS?, * Strong technical knowledge across hardware, software, and IT infrastructure. * Experience supporting Windows Operating Systems. * Good working knowledge of Microsoft 365 productivity and administration tools. * Familiarity with network technologies (LAN and wireless). * Understanding of multimedia and communication systems (telephony, mobile devices). * Experience supporting printers and multifunction devices. * Ability to learn new technologies quickly and adapt effectively. * Confident delivering technical support via phone, remote tools, and in person. * Strong organisational and prioritisation skills. * Clear communication, with a customer-focused approach. * Proactive mindset with a strong "get things done" attitude.
Desirable Knowledge and Skills
- Ability to produce written reports, technical briefs, and presentations. * Experience delivering user training or onboarding for new systems. * Exposure to Oracle NetSuite. * Knowledge of Ubiquiti / UniFi network equipment. * Experience in warehousing or logistics environments. * Understanding of Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions. * Ability to support Apple macOS users.
